The Problem
Pes planus refer to a change in foot shape in which the foot does not have a normal arch when standing.
A flatfoot may cause no symptoms. Symptoms of flatfoot include pain that may be in the inside arch, heel, or ankle and on the outside of the foot just below the ankle. Flattening of the arch can lead to rolling in of the foot and ankle and tilting outward of the heel. Flatfoot can also cause shin pain (shin splints), and aching of the knee, hip, and/or lower back. This really depends on the type and severity of the flatfoot.

Treatment
Dr.foot offer podiatry services for any kind of pes planus (flat foot):
Assessment: we use high tech devices (2D and 3D scanner) to prescribe, design and fabricate orthotic devices designed specifically for your foot condition. These perfectly match the contours of your feet, taking your individual body movement into account.
Custom Made Orthotics: We design functional orthoticsfor people who experience abnormal gaits. We may prescribe them to treat the associated foot pain, but frequently we prescribe them to help relieve shin splints, tendinitis or other injuries.
The softer accommodative orthotics are molded according to your condition and provide painful feet with plenty of cushioning support for your feet.
Shoe wear modification: Shoes should make your feet feel comfortable, help alleviate body aches and pains, and keep you looking great.
Exercise for flat feet: both barefoot walking and prescribed activities have been used.
Operative: The goals of surgery are pain reduction/resolution and realignment of the foot.
Reconstructive surgery of the foot and ankle consists of complex surgical repair(s) that may be necessary to regain function or stability, reduce pain, and/or prevent further deformity or disease.
